Parmenter Wins Two More TOBY Awards At BOMA’s Southern Region Competition

MIAMI, Fla., April 15, 2015 – Parmenter last Saturday won two more regional TOBY® (The Outstanding Building Of the Year) awards for 2014-2015 at the BOMA Southern Region award ceremony held in Charlotte, North Carolina. Buckhead Tower at Lenox Square in Atlanta, Georgia won in the Earth category, and Waterford Plaza in Tampa, Florida won in the Renovated Building category. Including the two new awards, Parmenter has won a total of 55 TOBY awards for the buildings it has owned and managed.

“Commercial real estate has always been about value, and sustainability has been a key focus at Parmenter for many years,” said Steve Harrison, Managing Director Facilities and Sustainability at Parmenter. “We are honored to have two of our buildings win regional TOBY awards this year, and we will continue to implement strategies that value-add of sustainability to our buildings.”

TOBY honors the best of the best in commercial buildings, and the awards are the most prestigious and comprehensive programs of their kind in the commercial real estate industry recognizing quality in buildings and rewarding excellence in building management. During the stages of competition, all facets of a building’s operations are thoroughly evaluated. Buildings are judged on everything from community involvement and site management to environmental and “green” policies and procedures.

Buckhead Tower at Lenox Square competed in the Earth category where the building and building management teams were judged on preserving and enhancing the internal and external environment of the building through green and sustainable programs. Waterford Plaza competed in the Renovated Building category where the building and building management teams were judged on five projects including rehabilitation, modernization and remodeling of building systems and common areas.

“Winning these prestigious TOBY awards demonstrates Parmenter’s continued focus on providing value to our tenants through sustainable building practices and high quality renovations,” said Michael Holmes, Regional COO and SVP Acquisitions at Parmenter. “We are incredibly proud that both properties have demonstrated tremendous teamwork during this competition leading to wins at both the local and now regional levels.”

Both Buckhead Tower at Lenox Square and Waterford Plaza move on to the international competition held in Los Angeles at the BOMA Building Conference on June 30, 2015.
