Parmenter Realty Partners Enters EPA’s 2013 ENERGY STAR National Building Competition
MIAMI, Fla., August 20, 2013 – Parmenter Realty Partners enters EPA’s 2013 ENERGY STAR National Building Competition with over 5.9 million square feet of their owned and operated buildings. The competition is a one-year, energy-reduction contest among commercial buildings across the United States.
“Parmenter Realty Partners is constantly looking for ways to reduce the impact our buildings have on the environment,” said Steve Harrison, Managing Director Facilities and Sustainability at Parmenter Realty Partners. “We are honored to be part of EPA’s ENERGY STAR National Building Competition, as it is in alignment with our corporate sustainability objectives, and will motivate our employees and tenants to find innovative ways to help the environment by reducing their energy consumption.”
More than 3,200 competitors are going head-to-head in EPA’s 2013 ENERGY STAR National Building Competition to see who can reduce energy use the most. “Thousands of buildings across the country are going on energy diets with help from EPA and ENERGY STAR,” said Jean Lupinacci, Director of EPA’s ENERGY STAR Commercial Buildings Program. “Organizations like those competing in this year’s National Building Competition are taking a bold step by putting themselves in the spotlight as they compete to protect the environment and save as much energy as possible.”
Throughout the competition, participants will cut energy waste through energy-saving activities such as making improvements to the building, optimizing operations and maintenance, and engaging occupants to save. The building that demonstrates the greatest percentage-based reduction in energy use intensity during the competition will be recognized as the winner.
Parmenter Realty Partners is a real estate investment, management and development company, headquartered in Miami, Florida, with regional offices in Dallas, Atlanta and Washington, D.C.
