Parmenter Honored By EPA as a 2015 ENERGY STAR® Partner Of The Year for the Second Year in a Row
MIAMI, Fla., April 7, 2015 – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has recognized Parmenter with a 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Energy Management Award for its outstanding efforts to improve the energy efficiency of U.S. buildings and facilities through its actions. This is the second year in a row Parmenter is honored and the company’s accomplishments will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2015.
“Sustainability and energy efficiency has been a core value at Parmenter for many years, and working with ENERGY STAR and adopting energy management practices brings positive results, both for the environment and our bottom line,” said Steve Harrison, Managing Director Facilities and Sustainability at Parmenter. “Parmenter has been an ENERGY STAR partner since 2007 and we are honored to win this award for the second year in a row, and will continue to implement strategies that help reduce our energy use.”
Key accomplishments of Parmenter’s award-winning energy management program include: achieving an average ENERGY STAR score of more than 80 across its portfolio of buildings, earning the ENERGY STAR label at over 75% of its properties, and increasing awareness of energy efficiency through employee newsletters and educational webinars, working with the Department of Energy on a building re-tuning project, and engaging tenants in energy savings.
“Parmenter is a leading example of how businesses and organizations are incorporating ENERGY STAR into their sustainability programs,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. “Parmenter’s role in energy management is helping reduce our nation’s greenhouse gas emissions that fuel climate change and preserve a healthy planet for future generations.”
In addition to EPA’s Partner Of The Year honor, Parmenter recently scored another LEED™ Silver certification at Cityplace Tower in Dallas, Texas under the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance rating system. The company was also awarded 2014-2015 TOBY Awards for two of its buildings: Buckhead Tower in Atlanta and Waterford Plaza in Tampa.
“These recent accolades are a testament of Parmenter’s dedication to providing value to its tenants by delivery more efficient and cost effective services,” said Andrew Weiss, Managing Principal & Chief Operating Officer at Parmenter. “With each new award and certification we get one step closer to our goal and commitment to have sustainable building practices across our entire portfolio.”
